En Alemania, cerca de 100 sacerdotes decidieron hacer a un lado las políticas de la Iglesia Católica y bendecir a parejas homosexuales a partir de este 2021. La decisión fue tomada luego que la Santa Sede se negara o otorgar la bendición a este colectivo considerando que “Dios no puede bendecir el pecado”.
“No queremos excluir a nadie. Celebramos la diversidad de los distintos planes de vida e historias de amor de las personas y pedimos la bendición de Dios. Sin ningún secreto”, afirmaron los promotores de la iniciativa en su página web.

La iniciativa promovida por cientos de curas alemanas fue considerada, por muchos, como una modernización de la Iglesia Católica que pierde seguidores constantemente por casos de pederastia y la disminución de la llegada de voluntarios a formarse como sacerdotes.
Cabe resaltar que la conducta de la Iglesia Católica es considerada como una de las mejores posicionadas y más liberales, a diferencia de otros países del mundo. Con el pasar de los años su aceptación hacia parejas del mismo sexo se ha hecho más amplia.
